Castleford is located within West Yorkshire, England at the point where the River Calder flows into the River Aire. The M62 motorway runs along the west and south of the town. Junction 32 of the motorway is located between Castleford and Pontefract. The A1 is a few miles to the east.  The nearest city is Wakefield and the nearest large city is Leeds. Trains  from Leeds, Wakefield (Kirkgate station) and Sheffield visit Castleford. Trains from London call at Wakefield (Westgate Station), Leeds and Doncaster. There are regular buses from Wakefield and Leeds to Castleford.
