There are plans for a new Interchange to replace the two stations

Castleford war memorial

Nor far from the railway station is the British Legion building, in front of which is the town's war memorial. If the new transport interchange is built the memorial will have to be moved. The British Legion and the Council are working together to provide an enhanced memorial in the town centre.
